Cusp is a hidden gem for brunch in La Jolla, with 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean from its 11th-floor location above the famous Hotel La Jolla! Enjoy mimosas or their house-made bloody marys while you watch the sunset over the horizon.

Their specially crafted tables all face west, giving you and your guests the best possible viewing position. Perfect service from the personnel and a calming, romantic ambiance make it the perfect place to celebrate a special event or just get dressed up for a fun brunch date!

The best part of eating at Cusp is undoubtedly the views, but the brunch cuisine is also excellent! Chef Ingrid Funes Shelton incorporates vibrant and daring flavors into her brunch menu, drawing inspiration from her family’s dishes.

My favorite dish in San Diego is the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast, which is served with citrus cream, cherry tomatoes, capers, pickled shallots, and arugula salad dressed in a lemon vinaigrette.

The fluffy Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, topped with seasonal berries, whipped mascarpone, and maple syrup, will make you feel like you’re on the eleventh floor! Additionally, the juicy Cusp Brunch Burger is a surefire winner!

Inside, an urban sanctuary tucked away in the Hillcrest district is a place where you may dine outside while staying inside. With three dining floors surrounded by beautiful greenery and trees and open skies framed by the Eitol Towers, this brunch is stylish yet edgy, with creative cocktails, lively attitudes, and music that reverberates throughout the restaurant.

With a strong horchata brew, you can awaken your senses and make the most of your Sunday afternoon, or you can unwind and go crazy with a tropical freaky tiki.

While inside has grown to be one of San Diego’s most popular brunch destinations, it remains a welcoming environment where patrons are treated like family.

Every drizzle, sauce, and topping on Executive Chef Johnny Duran’s newly updated brunch menu are prepared from scratch. Your taste senses will be enticed by the sophisticated and tasty breakfast delicacies, which will have you singing to the open sky above you.

3. The Mission

Phone: +1 619-281-8449
Address:
10818 San Diego Mission Rd, San Diego, CA 92108, United States

The Mission

This charming family brunch restaurant has been a mainstay of San Diego for more than 25 years, and it has several locations. There’s a good reason for that.

The Mission’s goal is to continue being affordable, family- and neighborhood-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and health-conscious while also giving back to the community and promoting local artists.

For $6.00, savor a house-made, no-frills bloody mary; for $5, indulge in any specialty coffee; or for just $7.00, rejuvenate yourself with a PB&J Acai Strawberry Shake. The Mission also provides affordable seasonal mimosas with freshly squeezed juices!

“Tasty, nutritious food with a whimsical touch,” The Mission’s devoted and devoted clientele can enjoy a variety of delectable delicacies, including their well-known and rich Cinnamon French Toast and the nutritious and fresh Zen breakfast with organic tofu cooked in sesame-soy sauce.

The Mission demonstrates that excellent brunch/breakfast, service, and quality don’t have to be sacrificed in favor of higher prices for patrons by making their own bread and pastries and using products that are found locally. Probably a good sign for why there are packed houses practically every day of the week at every location!

4. Snooze – An A.M. Eatery

Snooze An A.M. Eatery

Don’t Sleep on Snooze: An Early-Morning Restaurant! Originally a well-liked Colorado breakfast and brunch destination, it has expanded to 50 locations in 8 states, including multiple locations in San Diego.

This is so amazing since Snooze gives you the impression that you are having brunch at a “chain” restaurant as your final experience.

The service and staff are cheerful and kind, and each waiter selects one table each day to receive a complimentary pancake after getting to know them better, fostering relationships and a sense of loyalty with their patrons.

Its seasonal and excellent bloody mary selection is complemented by house-made, ultra-fresh cocktails; nevertheless, the standout offering is the homemade tomato juice, which has some of the best bloody marys in San Diego!

Quirky and vibrant, Snooze offers inventive takes on morning fare. Like the cocktail menu, a lot of the brunch offerings are seasonal, allowing for creative and locally sourced preparation. Still, you can never go wrong with a Snooze pancake flight or a nutritious option from their Plant Power menu.

For those who like to balance their breakfast, there are some delicious options like the Bravocado Toast with red onion honey jam, spiced pepitas, and parmesan greens.

The housemade michelada at Los Panchos is served in a huge goblet and contains secret ingredients that give it a smoky, savory flavor with just the right amount of acidity and fizz!

I can’t think of a better way to describe the meal at Los Panchos than the sign that reads, “I’m pretty but loca.” Gorgeously displayed, yet insane! It’s crazy good! Dripping with delectable homemade sauces, these are among of San Diego’s greatest chalupas and huevos rancheros.

Indulge in a massive breakfast burrito filled with shrimp, Angus carne asada, scrambled eggs, cheddar, and a Diablo sauce to cure your ills!

You may wonder, what makes Great Maple so amazing. Really, everything! Great Maple’s brunch is available seven days a week, with locations in San Diego and around Southern California!

A complete bloody mary menu leads the cocktail menu! Here’s Great Maple’s Famous Pickle Mary, which serves out one of the best bloody marys in San Diego and is topped with one of the biggest pickles I’ve ever seen—no pun intended.

There are no bad choices—I’ve also liked the Classic Mary and the Guadalupe Mary! Not in the mood for a hangover on Tuesday morning? Get a double dose of espresso to make the hairs on the back of your neck rise up, or try one of their delicious herbal teas.

Two words: Bacon, maple, and donuts. The highlight of a contemporary, whimsical, and wonderfully tasty brunch menu that is reason alone to visit is Great Maple’s namesake dish.

Enjoy the dip with Johnny’s Lolliwaffles on a stick, which come with delicious dipping sauces like whipped cream, salted caramel, lemon custard, and raspberry coulis.

Cerrillos Chilaquiles, which are made with fried corn tortillas, gourmet chorizo, queso fresco, piquillo peppers, hatch chili salsa verde, onions, cherry tomatoes, avocado, fresh cilantro, and cilantro sour cream, are a great way to keep things light. You’ll always have a great (ful) belly when you depart Great Maple!

8. Morning Glory

Phone: +1 619-629-0302
Address:
550 W Date St Suite #C, San Diego, CA 92101, United States

Morning Glory

Take back Sunday morning with brunch at Morning Glory in Little Italy and wave goodbye to your hangover. Everything, even the striking décor, is designed to awaken your senses and revitalize your lifeless body after Saturday night revelry.

My preferred juice cleanse is the savory Bloody Mary, which is created with umami juice, garlic bitters, and celery foam. There’s something for everyone here—wake up with a boozy coffee creation, brighten up with an Instagrammable Glitter Fizz, or take a day off of liquor and enjoy one of their delicious beverages without the spirits!

Although I had heard nothing but wonderful things about their souffle pancakes, I had to try the Breakfast Carbonara. That morning, something about carbs and cheese really appealed to me.

The dish, which is thick and creamy and has a crispy pork belly and a hint of Calabrian chili oil, is undoubtedly a sleeper hit—don’t skip it!

With interactive family-style options like the  Fried Chicken Extravaganza, Born and Raised Steak and Eggs Experience, or the Table-side Lobster Omelet, Morning Glory’s brunch menu was also designed with large groups in mind. A bonus is that reservations are required if you choose to order one of these family-style options! So grab hold of it.

I had no idea that brisket and brunch went together so nicely, but sometimes you have to take a chance on the brisket! The Sunday brunch at Smokey & the Brsket is a new favorite secret brunch spot in San Diego, and it’s worth the journey to La Mesa!

I cherish restaurants that serve brisket or barbecue because the seasonings or juices always enhance their bloody marys! Nothing compares to a smokey and effervescent Michelada on a hot summer’s day for this savory-loving gal! A

Also, it keeps things light while the savory cocktail still goes well with the barbecue! Additionally, you can enjoy a bellini or mimosa during the festive season!
