20 Best Brunch Spots in Salt Lake City 2024 | The People’s Choice

Best Brunch Spots in Salt Lake City

Brunch is undoubtedly the most important meal of the weekend. Monday through Friday is made worthwhile by having brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Nothing is better or more important to your health than starting the day with a mimosa or a freshly brewed cup of coffee, followed by some biscuits and gravy, huevos rancheros, pancakes, or a hearty two-egg breakfast.

Finding the best brunch in spots Salt Lake City may be more difficult than you think, depending on what you want out of your brunch.

Salt Lake City boasts unique brunch menus all around the valley, but Utah’s infamous liquor regulations may prevent you from enjoying that first mimosa or bloody mary.

Due to restrictions on their liquor license, many brunch spots in Salt Lake City can’t start serving their brunch cocktail menu until 10:30 a.m.

Make sure to contact ahead and confirm with the eatery if you’re hoping to catch a breakfast buzz soon after daybreak. And yes, unless otherwise stated, Sunday brunch is served at all of these Salt Lake City restaurants.

For our best brunch spots in Salt Lake City list, we considered the dishes we crave, the beverages we require, and the patios that make a brunch destination unforgettable.

Brunch Menu:

  • Breakfast Burrito

Roots Cafe

Roots Cafe is a nice neighborhood breakfast spot, located in Millcreek, away from the downtown area.

It offers everything you might desire in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly and pleasant service, and most of all, delicious food that will leave you feeling satisfied and beyond.

Whether you’re having a green smoothie with biscuits and gravy or scrambled eggs, Roots Cafe’s menu items are tasty and fresh, so you’ll always leave feeling satisfied.

Order the huevos rancheros, eggs benni, mixed berry crepes, or their wonderful and hearty buckwheat pancakes or the “pancake of the day” special after starting with one of their fresh juices.

Since Roots Cafe is well-known, especially on weekends, plan to arrive as soon as they open or expect to wait.

Brunch Menu:

  • Spanakopita
  • Lamb Chops
  • Saganaki
  • Beet Salad

Manoli’s

Manoli’s is among the top restaurants in Salt Lake City, yet their brunch, which is served every weekend on Saturday and Sunday, is sometimes disregarded.

Being a Mediterranean restaurant, Manoli’s serves a fantastic blend of classic and unique brunch fare, such as Greek sausage and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and myzithra pancakes.

Favorite dishes include their classic and utterly fulfilling eggs benedict, their light and fluffy myzitrha pancakes, and their made-to-perfection house greek yogurt (served with seasonal toppings and local honey).

3. Urban Hill

Location: 510 S 300 W #100, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Brunch Menu:

  • Lobster Roll
  • Wagyu Steak
  • Grilled Octopus
  • Truffle Fries
  • Chocolate Mousse

Urban Hill

They have an amazing brunch buffet on Sunday mornings, as if we needed more incentive to visit Urban Hill. It’s excellent and among Salt Lake City’s top brunch options, in my opinion.

To see the restaurant’s stunning interiors gradually come to life, we suggest making a reservation for brunch at Urban Hill as soon as possible.

For a flawlessly baked roll with the ideal amount of cream cheese frosting on top (literally, icing on every mouthful), start your morning with an orange roll from Hill’s Kitchen.

Order the Green Chile Eggs Benedict for the main course (the hallmark dish of Urban Hill, the kick of green chilies is everything). It’s brunch time now!

Brunch Menu:

  • Chicken Liver Mousse
  • Ricotta Dumplings
  • Duck Breast
  • Braised Short Ribs
  • Bread Pudding

Oquirrh Restaurant

Oquirrh is a fantastic restaurant located in Salt Lake City’s downtown. While most patrons come for the excellent evening menu, the brunch is also highly recommended.

We can never dine here too often since every meal is so delicious, elegant, and delightful that we can never get enough of it.

Get the bread pudding french toast with maple syrup and seasonal fruit on top for a sweet treat.

Try the original or crab eggs benedict if you’re in the mood for something savory, or get the Oquirrh burger for one of the best burgs in town.

5. Frankie & Essl’s

Location: 490 E 1300 S Suite 102, Salt Lake City, UT 84115

Brunch Menu:

  • Pastrami Sandwich
  • Latkes
  • Matzo Ball Soup
  • Smoked Salmon Bagel
  • Rugelach

There should be at least one breakfast sandwich store in each Brunch guide, and we are thrilled to recommend Frankie & Essl’s.

Frankie & Essl’s, a neighborhood restaurant with a focus on breakfast sandwiches and locally owned, is the ideal place for a quick takeout or a nice brunch with friends.

A brioche bread toasted and buttered, with two fried eggs on top, is a winning combination for breakfast. A delicious and time-saving combination that is highly recommended is the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich.

If we could, we would wait in line for these simple breakfast sandwiches every morning.

6. Tulie Bakery

Location: 863 E 700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84102

Brunch Menu:

  • Almond Croissant
  • Quiche Lorraine
  • Ham and Cheese Croissant

  • Cinnamon Roll

Tulie Bakery

One of our favorite bakeries in SLC, Tulie Bakery delivers a simple yet memorable breakfast menu in addition to producing some of the best pastries in town.

You are in for a treat whether you visit their flagship store on 700 South or their more recent site in the 15th and 15th neighborhood.

In addition to their amazing selection of freshly baked French pastries, they serve steel cut oats with fresh fruit, a range of homemade toasts with various spreads and toppings, and their signature brioche french toast, which is made with their own brioche bread, whipped creme fraiche, and fresh fruit.

All of these breakfast options are available every morning.

7. La Barba Coffee & Breakfast Tacos

Location: 155 E 900 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Brunch Menu:

  • Bacon and Egg Taco
  • Chorizo Taco
  • Potato and Egg Taco
  • Avocado Toast
  • Cinnamon Sugar Donut

La Barba Coffee & Breakfast Tacos

Salt Lake City’s La Barba is more than simply a modern coffee roaster; they are also well-known for its mouthwatering, freshly cooked, and scratch breakfast tacos.

This cute little eatery is located downtown and is surprisingly roomy, with plenty of seating for you and other taco-loving breakfasters.

The incredibly tasty house-made salsas and the wonderful flour tortillas are just two examples of the many items prepared from scratch here.

Visit them for two of our favorite tacos: the black bean, potato, and pickled red onion taco and the bacon, egg, and cheese taco.

These are our go-to breakfast tacos; they’re made on the moment, delightfully easy, and always excellent.

8. Beaumont Bakery & Cafe

  • Croissant Sandwich

Beaumont Bakery & Cafe

Proceed directly to the Beaumont Bakery for consistently tasty and gratifying breakfast options in the Salt Lake Valley.

You can enjoy a satisfying meal at this visually appealing bakery and cafe, which serves breakfast every day. You can also visit them through their excellent drive-thru, which is always busy.

With roasted corn, fresno chiles, cotija cheese, and microgreens (don’t forget to add an egg!), their avocado toast is among the best you’ll ever taste.

Also, their breakfast burrito and croissant are perfect for those days when you’re craving fluffy, velvety eggs wrapped in a tortilla or nestled between a buttery, flaky croissant.

9. Oasis Cafe

Location: 151 S 500 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102

Brunch Menu:

  • Eggs Benedict
  • Greek Salad
  • Vegan Pancakes
  • Chicken Pot Pie
  • Carrot Cake

Oasis Cafe

We’ve yet to witness a morning at Oasis Cafe when it wasn’t crowded with devoted customers—unquestionably a local jewel. Oasis Cafe is known for its fresh, whole ingredients that have an uplifting effect, and they use locally grown vegetables.

They serve brunch till 3:00 p.m. every day, so you’ll have plenty of time to consume your fair share of pancakes, eggs benny, and snacks.

Though their German buttermilk pancake is our favorite, you truly can’t go wrong with anything you order from the menu. This hotcake is baked in a skillet and covered in fresh blueberry compote.

You must have it right now. Additionally, for a delicious and substantial savory breakfast, we suggest their huevos rancheros.

10. The Rose Establishment

Location: 235 400 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Brunch Menu:

  • Avocado Tartine
  • Quiche
  • Breakfast Sandwich
  • Chia Pudding
  • Matcha Latte

The Rose Establishment

Enjoy some of Salt Lake City’s best breakfast and lunch at one of the most beautiful coffee shops.

A great, fuss-free menu featuring both sweet and savory breakfast and lunch items is offered by The Rose Establishment.

Smashed avocado, candied lemon chips, olive oil drizzle, and fleur de sel are the toppings of their avocado tartine, which is served on 5-seed bread from Eva’s Bakery and is all we could ever want.

Not to be missed is the Standard, which comes with two herbed potato cakes, two soft-cooked eggs from the free range, and pork belly bacon served with house-smoked tomato jam.

Brunch Menu:

  • Lemon Ricotta Pancakes
  • Corned Beef Hash
  • French Toast
  • Biscuits and Gravy
  • Omelette

Lazy Day Cafe

Lazy Day Cafe is the place to go if you’re looking for a fantastic, locally-only, diner experience in the Salt Lake City area for breakfast or brunch that offers excellent food.

Simply put, the cuisine here is excellent. The menu features all of the standard dishes, such as pancakes, biscuits, and gravy, chicken, and waffles, and there is also a fair selection of vegan options.

The star of the show is the handcrafted lemon pancakes, which come with a delicious buttermilk syrup that you can taste straight from the bottle (see our version here).

The shrimp and grits, the traditional eggs benedict, and the pork chile verde burrito are our top savory menu choices.

12. Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade

Location: 54 W 1700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84115

Brunch Menu:

  • Hoss (fried chicken sandwich)
  • Biscuit and Gravy
  • Pancakes
  • Housemade Limeade
  • Chicken and Waffles

Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade

Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade is one of the oldest, most recognizable restaurants in Salt Lake City.

Established as a limeade stand at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market, this family-run enterprise offers delicious breakfast and brunch options from Tuesday to Sunday.

This staple of SLC is never too far away, with locations in Draper, American Fork, and Salt Lake City.

The Hoss, a homemade biscuit topped with fried chicken breast, bacon, sausage gravy, and green onion garnish, is a must-order if it’s your first time there.

Enjoy it all with one of their flavorful homemade limeades. Best of all is the traditional mint limeade; raspberry and orange limeade is a close second.

13. Stratford Proper

Location: 376 8th Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84103

Brunch Menu:

  • Margherita Pizza
  • Fish and Chips
  • Caesar Salad
  • BBQ Pork Sandwich
  • Tiramisu

Stratford Proper

The people who brought you Avenues Proper and Proper Burger Co. are the people behind Stratford Proper Café & Bistro. The superb brunch offerings at Stratford Proper are already well-known.

With cheddar, eggs, cilantro, and crème fraiche, the morning burrito is a must-try. With smoked ricotta cheese, prosciutto, egg, and basil hollandaise, the breakfast pizza is also an absolute highlight.

The eatery, which is very much your neighborhood hangout, is situated in Salt Lake’s hip but mostly tranquil Stratford neighborhood. Plenty of outside seating makes it an ideal spot to enjoy your dinner with friends.

14. Cotton Kitchen

Location: 3158 E 6200 S Ste B, Holladay, UT 84117

Brunch Menu:

  • Breakfast Burrito
  • Chicken Fried Steak
  • Blueberry Pancakes
  • BLT Sandwich
  • Apple Pie

Cotton Kitchen

With its diverse menu, Cotton Kitchen really does have something for everyone. A popular dish is the lox benedict, which comes with poached eggs, Dijon aioli, and sourdough bread.

The brioche sandwich, which has egg, arugula, Dijon aioli, and sharp cheddar, is something else I suggest. If you would like, you can top it with bacon or apple chicken sausage.

There is plenty of sitting throughout the lovely and well-kept facility. It features booths, smaller low-top tables, and a communal high-top table.

Everything at Cotton Kitchen is served on beautiful dishes because the restaurant places a strong emphasis on presentation. Brunch is available whenever you choose because breakfast food is supplied all day.

15. The Dayroom

Location: 271 N, N Center St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103

Brunch Menu:

  • Avocado Toast
  • Shakshuka
  • Brioche French Toast
  • Smoked Salmon Bagel
  • Matcha Latte

The Dayroom

Long-time operator and chef Emily Grassman recently extended Em’s to include The Dayroom next door. The Rice Egg, which is stuffed with fried egg, kimchi, and gochujang, is something you really must taste.

A treat is a waffle, which is garnished with yogurt, citrus, cardamom, and cocoa. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a Green Mary—the vodka comes from the Dented Brick Distillery in SLC.

Situated in the lovely Avenues neighborhood, this restaurant offers some of the most picturesque views of Salt Lake City while dining.

The restaurant is tastefully designed and airy. It seems quite cozy because it’s in a real house, and the original hardwood floors are the nicest feature.

16. London Belle Supper Club

Location:  321 Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Brunch Menu:

  • Beef Wellington
  • Lobster Bisque
  • Truffle Mac and Cheese
  • Caesar Salad
  • Creme Brulee

The London Belle Supper Club serves up some very good brunch, despite its name. Try the eggs Benedict, which comes with potatoes, hollandaise sauce, poached eggs, and smoked ham.

It’s easy to miss this restaurant, which is close to Temple Square, thanks to its massive iron front door! With its sleek and contemporary design, the space is perfect for dining, drinking, and lounging with friends.

The restaurant occasionally becomes an incredibly beautiful dance club.

17. The Daily

Location:

Brunch Menu:

  • Breakfast Burrito
  • Avocado Toast
  • Smoothie Bowl
  • Chia Pudding
  • Cappuccino

London Belle Supper Club

Chef Ryan Lowder opened up The Daily, right next to Goldman Sachs in downtown Salt Lake, after having three restaurants in the city: Copper Onion, Copper Kitchen, and Copper Commons.

The Turkish eggs are always tasty and a bit unexpected, served with seasoned yogurt and mint.

Another excellent option is the eggs benedict, which comes with homemade fries and a flavorful hollandaise sauce. And everyone enjoys their brunch meal with mimosas made with freshly squeezed fruit juice.

The eatery is located in the center of the city and is exactly as hip as you would think. The restaurant’s numerous plants and trees are a particular favorite among patrons.

Brunch Menu:

  • Chicken and Waffles
  • Pork Belly Benedict
  • Biscuits and Gravy
  • Veggie Hash
  • Beignets

Pig & a Jelly Jar

With outlets in Ogden and Holladay, Pig & A Jelly Jar is a great — and sometimes overlooked— breakfast and brunch destination in Salt Lake City.

Delicious baked biscuits paired with locally produced jams like strawberry rhubarb and blueberry lavender are served with an amazing menu of southern classics and scrambles.

Chopped country ham, potatoes, red peppers, onions, sautéed greens, and local bacon are combined to make the ham hash, which is our favorite dish here. It is served with two sunny-side eggs and lemon aioli.

20. SLC Eatery

Location: 1017 S Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Brunch Menu:

  • Pork Belly Buns
  • Duck Tacos
  • Fried Chicken Sandwich
  • House Salad
  • Chocolate Cake

SLC Eatery

Though SLC Eatery is relatively new to the Salt Lake City restaurant industry, they have some of the best brunches around.

You will not be disappointed if you arrive hungry and try a few items from the menu, including a selection of small plates, snacks, and full-fledged dinners.

If you’re craving something hearty and substantial, try the Eatery burger (one of the best in town), the tres leches French breakfast, or the Okonamiyaki Benedict.

Final Words

The most well-liked restaurants in Salt Lake City for breakfast and brunch are by no means included in this guide. If your preferred product isn’t included here, chances are good that we’ve tried it (many times) and weren’t impressed.

Because life is too short to consume poor cuisine, we take great satisfaction in only suggesting eateries that we think are genuinely worth your time and money.
