1. The Mailroom

Just by its position, a visit to The Mailroom is a sensory feast. Located near the Downtown Commons, this exquisitely restored historic gem is housed in the city’s former Federal Building and United States Post Office.

The 1935-erected structure housed Clarksville’s post office until the 1960s when it was converted into federal office space. It has now been converted into a restaurant serving homemade food that honors the rich past of the city.

I had supper at The Mailroom on my stay, but I’ve heard amazing things about their brunch options as well. I had the Skirt Steam Chimi, which comes with hand-cut fries and grilled veggies cooked on the restaurant’s real wood-fired Argentine grill and topped with chimichurri sauce.

I also couldn’t resist ordering dessert, so I indulged in the rich Warm Red Velvet Bread Pudding that locals had suggested.

Should you decide to indulge in alcohol, The Mailroom offers a tantalizing cocktail menu featuring a blend of draft and craft beverages. Fresh house-pressed sugar cane juice and locally produced spirits from Old Glory Distilling Co. are also available here.

Miss Lucille’s Café brunch restaurant in Clarksville

You will most likely be hungry after perusing Miss Lucille’s Marketplace’s more than 52,000 square feet of antiques, vintage, and more. I’m positive that I did! Thank goodness, Miss Lucille’s Café is housed inside this amazing facility and has a menu with more substantial alternatives in addition to a broad selection of snacks.

After a few hours of shopping, this place is ideal for recharging because it has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I had the Yummy Yummy Bowl when I was there, which comes with jasmine rice, grilled chicken, mixed vegetables, and a delectable blend of savory and sweet sauces.

Also, Miss Lucille’s Coffee is located directly outside the café entrance if you need a fast caffeine fix or a sweet treat.

3. Old Glory Restaurant & Silo Park

Location: 451 Alfred Thun Road in Clarksville, Tennessee

Brunch Menu:

  • omelets
  • buttermilk pancakes
  • biscuits with homemade gravy
  • smoked bacon

3. Old Glory Restaurant & Silo Park

On its opening in 2016, Old Glory Distilling Co. has gotten a name as an old familiar in our community. Among the recent additions to Clarksville’s dining options, an eatery now has its home in the distillery.

The flagship Old Glory Fire Grill & Bar, which opened recently in 2024, offers both a gorgeous patio area for groups of friends and family and a made-from-scratch menu accompanied by a signature spirit blend.

Whether you intend to battle the effects of distillery tour drinking or simply grab something to eat, this restaurant is a right choice. Moreover, the distillery brand spirits are the front-line drinks of the cocktail menu among others.

I just couldn’t resist ordering ‘Duck Fat Fries’ and ‘Grilled Smoked Salmon’ while I was having dinner at the Old Glory Restaurant. I can’t stop fantasizing of the Bourbon BBQ Sauce (you serve it with fries) – the taste of these two was really good.

I decided to be adventurous and give myself an opportunity to taste the Sweet Southern Sipper, a house blend made with Tennessee vodka from the local distillery – Old Glory Distilling Co., since it, after all, is the embodiment of a Southern experience.

Entering Amsterdam is like entering the comfortable living room of a close friend. Even though the décor is odd and eccentric, it all works together.

9. Yada on Franklin

Locals are familiar with Yada because of its cichetti-style dining, an Italian dining experience that is very different from most American restaurants.

Instead of each person at the table receiving a large portion of whatever they choose, cichetti-style dining encourages sharing small plates with the table and making orders throughout the meal.

Their “brunchetti” menu features inventive dishes like blue polenta and shrimp, challah french toast bites, and burrata and strawberry toast.

Don’t worry, though; they also have traditional favorites like eggs benedict and biscuits & gravy. And don’t forget to try the Yada donuts!

I have never had a more delicious brunch than mine at Cafe 931. It was located in Clarksville. A positive mood that all started with the staff giving us a warm welcome to our steps into the restaurant boosted my setting for the rest of the visit.

I think this pancake burrito is absolutely great, and the coffee here is incredibly delicious. It’s revolutionary. Açaí bowls are also on the menu. In addition to being delicious and refreshing, they are undoubtedly worth trying for.

I believe that it is necessary to create this cozy and friendly atmosphere, and my kid surely deserves a chance to feel that way. It is hard sometimes to locate a place that can provide space for children and still, Cafe 931 took it a step higher which is great.

13. Dock 17

My meal at Clarksville’s Dock 17 for brunch was undoubtedly unforgettable. I chose to try the Cajun-style burger with sweet potato fries because I was looking for something a little spicier.

Even though the burger wasn’t as soft as I had thought, the sweet potato fries were really delicious. One of my wife’s favorite dishes was the grilled shrimp skewers with Parmesan garlic fries.

Even for our palates who love salt, the fries tipped the scales toward being too salty; the shrimp was simply the best.

After participating in the culinary journey, our children gave the tenders and fries an 8 out of 10 and a 6 out of 10. One may say that there was a wide range of culinary experiences.

I found the personal touch that the owners and staff added to the eating experience to be really charming. They really go out of their way to get to know their customers. I was well-advised to visit Sweet P’s by their stellar evaluations.

Brunch Menu:

  • Breakfast Burrito
  • Pancakes

15. The Mailroom

It was in the morning and we went for breakfast at the Mailroom in Clarksville, but it was fantastic. The cuisine was excellent! The quality service that we received was par excellent across the whole 2 hours lunch.

The waiter was extremely nice especially, for satisfying my limited caloric intake or dietary restrictions. My husband shared the Korean burger, but I had the Korean beef bowl with veggies instead of rice.

We also sampled two cocktails: we ordered bramble, which was a ‘warmer’ old-fashioned, and a mojito.

The cheesecake was delicious, but I might not order it again. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, our group of eight guests from Chattanooga was assigned a fantastic seat. The large menu amazed me, and I’m already eyeing a few different meals for when I go back.

16. Moss’ Southern Cooking

16. Moss' Southern Cooking

Had a wonderful brunch at Clarksville’s Moss’ Southern Cooking! The eatery had a nostalgic feel that made me think of the diners I used to know as a child as soon as I went in. Excellent service was provided.

The personnel made me feel at home right away, which created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the meal. This place serves really delicious meals.

The gravy was truly exceptional, and the beef on a bun was succulent and full of flavor. I was taken aback by the chocolate pie’s distinct flavor, but it was a pleasant surprise that left me wanting more.

Not to mention the cornbread! I could not put it down; it was that delicious.

  7. Eggs

17. Waffle House

I would rate this Waffle House in Clarksville ten stars if I could! I’ve eaten at a lot of Waffle House restaurants in my lifetime, but this one is unquestionably the best.

We chose to sit in the high-top section because it was rather crowded when we arrived. Michelle, our server, was very kind and promptly accepted our order and our requests for drinks. We don’t get their waffles emblazoned with the logo back home, so it’s such a sweet touch.

Also, Michelle graciously gave us drinks to go. I strongly recommend that you visit; it’s a very clean and friendly environment.

18. Kelly’s Big Burger

  • Breakfast Platters

18. Kelly's Big Burger

Only after a few brunch visits to Kelly’s Big Hamburger in Clarksville, has it become common sense that this restaurant has been pivotal in the chain of people’s favorites.

Each time I try something different and new, because of the menu’s diversity. The food has been flavorful all the time. Overall, I have loved the food.

I have experimented with other options that made me realize that there is much more than one can get out of this small disappointment.

But if I were going to provide advice I would say stay off the country-fried chicken because it is two chicken patties with gravy and as for the pulled pork, it wasn’t alright for me because it was too dry.

My best one, however, was the deep-fried Oreo—and you must definitely give it a try! The 2023 October self was fairly similar to me as of now; or rather, I was the same person with the same thoughts.

19. Jackie’s Country Kitchen

Entering Jackie’s Country Kitchen was like taking a journey down memory lane to a traditional, mid-century family diner.

It was just the kind of real dining experience I had been longing for, with its intimate atmosphere and small number of seats.

It’s a cash-only establishment, but fear not—they have an ATM on the premises, so nothing will get in the way of your delicious meal.

The three-egg omelette was the standout dish for me; it was cooked to perfection and came with a side order of biscuits and gravy, leaving me utterly content and not wanting for more.

20. Huddle House

As I was visiting my family for the Holidays, my dad sent me to take a look at this space, precisely with that in mind, so we went with my family. Our event was immensely entertaining and we are definitely coming back again next time.

Here’s why our stay was enjoyable: We could quickly make ourselves feel at home from the moment we arrived. Staff members tried to put us on the waiting list and guide us to sit at the bar keeping in account their staff requirements.

The service was perfect throughout us having a meal. Our waiter revolved around customers and she was coming to us every time asking if we needed anything at all, refills or more napkins.

The menu featured not everything but a good variety of choices to cater to everyone, resembling a mouth-watering combination of Waffle House and Cracker Barrel restaurants.
